Meet Judy Reyes-Henderson, Executive Director

When you ask Judy what she enjoys most about Freedom City, her answer isn't about programs or numbers; it's about the children.
"The children and parents bring me immense joy and keep me going. I love seeing the confidence and academic growth in each child."
Whether she's celebrating a student's successful math test, hearing a parent share how much their family loves Freedom City, or watching students model the positive behaviors they've learned, Judy finds that these everyday moments remind her why the work matters.
Outside of Freedom City, Judy enjoys spending time outdoors with her family. You'll often find her hiking, swimming, exploring parks and zoos, or working in her garden.
A few things you might not know about Judy:
🧬 She originally studied genetics.
🏀 She was the mascot for Rose State College.
🎱 She plays pool left-handed, even though she's right-handed.
When asked who she'd most like to have dinner with, Judy didn't choose a famous leader or historical figure. She chose her sister, Marie.
"I'd tell her all about the silly, good and bad things I've done over the years. We'd laugh for hours."
We're grateful for Judy's leadership, compassion, and unwavering belief that every child deserves the opportunity to succeed.
