With a fantastic lineup of fun, interactive programming and the enthusiastic support of our awesome adult volunteers, learning becomes not just educational but an exciting journey! From engaging curriculum to captivating activities, we turn academic challenges into thrilling experiences. Become a part of an exciting journey as a pen pal with a Freedom City student! It's a fantastic opportunity to help boost their writing skills while creating meaningful connections and exploring exciting career paths together. Every Sunday night, you’ll get to unleash your creativity as you write a fun and engaging letter to your student—think of it as sharing stories, tips, and dreams! Your words will inspire them, and in return, they’ll write back by Friday, sharing their own thoughts and aspirations. Let’s embark on this journey of friendship and growth while having a blast! Are you ready to spark some joy in a student’s life?

Did you know that there are more stars in the universe than there are grains of sand on all the Earth’s beaches? Math can help us understand just how vast the universe is! Dive into the exciting world of math with Freedom City students and help them boost their skills! Each session kicks off with a lively icebreaker game to help everyone get to know each other and have some fun. After that, you’ll jump into a variety of engaging math activities, including Math Facts games and exciting IXL curriculum. Don't worry about being a math whiz—fun and support are what we’re all about! We’ll equip you with all the tools you need to help your student shine! Let’s make math a blast together!

Did you know that reading just six minutes a day can reduce stress levels by up to 68%? Team up with a Freedom City student to help them improve their reading skills! Each session kicks off with a fun icebreaker game to help everyone get to know each other better. After that, dive into some awesome reading activities—whether it’s reading a fantastic book aloud or boosting those comprehension skills, you’re in for a lively and engaging experience! So not only will you have fun, but you’ll also be melting away stress while enjoying some great stories together! Let's make reading fun!

At Freedom City, we believe that every child deserves an amazing role model and a safe, fun environment where they can grow and shine! Did you know that the mentor-mentee relationship has a positive impact on everyone involved? For mentees, being mentored is associated with enhanced academic, social, and economic prospects. For mentors, this relationship helps build leadership and management skills, expands professional networks, and offers a rewarding opportunity to give back to the community.

We’re on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to join our Mentoring Program, where you’ll get to connect with awesome young people and make a lasting impact. As a volunteer mentor, you’ll be matched with up to five student mentees from the same age range and dive into weekly sessions packed with fun and meaningful activities. Your mission is to spark confidence, inspire self-expression, and introduce students to exciting new opportunities, from extracurricular activities to career explorations!

As a mentor, you will

- Lead engaging and interactive sessions that get everyone talking, creating, and connecting!

- Be provided with all necessary materials, including project supplies, games, and guided worksheets, to teach values such as kindness, empathy, and leadership in a fun and engaging way.

- Help each student dream big and develop essential skills they'll need to succeed in school and beyond.

This program is so much more than just an after-school activity! It’s a lively space where young people can feel seen, heard, and free to be themselves. By volunteering with us, you’ll help build a brighter future—one meaningful relationship at a time.

We're dedicated to enhancing reading and math skills for Pre-K to 8th-grade students, and we need enthusiastic volunteers like you to help ignite their passion for learning!

As a volunteer, you’ll become a superhero in our students’ lives—supporting them with homework, sparking their creativity through exciting extracurricular activities, and helping to build their confidence. Whether it's through fun games, interactive lessons, or laughter-filled activities, every moment will be rewarding and lively!
